Default New to Ritualist class

Hello,

I have deleted my ranger to do Ritualist, and I have two questions.

Secondary profession?

I have thinked about mesmer of course, for energy management.
Everyone thinks about monk for secondary, because of good resurrections and self healing.
Or maybe I can go for pure Ritualist?

And second question. Why do you like to play as Ritualist?

Welcome to the Ritualist Profession.

As to answer your question:

1) any can be good.
I have a Rit/Necro for several reasons:
a) MM (Spawning gives minions more health)
b) Corpse Management
c) I just love Necromancers

2) Why I love my Rit/N? I love Necromancers. See above. Ritualists can do just fine with Energy Management (Channellers can gain more energy than used with a specific spell; Boon of Creation allows you to gain energy and health for each minion and spirit created).

Ritualists can be global healers, heavy damage dealers, protectors, aid others with Weapon Spells, have have funny dances.

Monk Secondaries - too much healing; can remove hexes that Ritualists can't; why have even more hard rezes?; smites are okay; too much protection

Warrior Secondaries - tactics are good; don't bother with weapons; casting in an earthquake can be made uninteruptable I think (balance stance or dolak signet)

Mesmers - great energy management; good disruption; good health degen; make spells uninteruptable (except from falling); good cover hexes

Rangers - more spirits for spirit spamming; pet; disruption arrows

Elementalists - other elemental attacks other than lightning; added protection spells

Assassins - Teleports; Earth damage

Necromancers - MM; Corpse management; can have Energy Management with Offering of Blood (e); good health degen; good cover hexes;

Hope this helps.

I'd say mesmer is a nice way to start, because as you progress through the game, you will find being a pure ritualist can be very effective. Sometimes, it's the best way to go. With mesmer, you can buy (don't forget, Cantha offer's no quests to reward skills) just a few skills that can help with your energy management. The only other time you would be using your secondary more than your primary is when using the Rit/N minion bomber...more death magic skills used there....or using Attuned Was Songkai for energy management and then using either monk heals (Rit/Mo) or ele spells (Rit/E). Once again, much like the ranger, there is nothing wrong with going pure ritualist at times.

I like playing a rit because they are pretty versatile, a lot like the ranger again (my fav class btw), and you will find the more powerful spirits can really make a difference for your team's survival. Oh, and there's the nice bonus of Rit/Me Vengeful-Echo farming, or the Rit/R Vengeful-QZ farmer. Fun stuff

Good luck with your Ritualist.

Go MM. Rt/N works well for me. I have not used it in PVP before, but it works well in PVE.

Rt/Mo has too much overlap. My Rest Rit does a better job healing than the majority of Healing Monks I have partied with. Rt also has rez skills, so no need for mo there either.

I have not seen any Rits in PVP that have been helpful or dangerous, so no advice there.

answers to your questions:

1) i recomend either mesmer or monk. I have heard of Rt/N using signet of creation and using spawning for minions, but i personally never used it.

2) I like ritualist for the spirits. But thats me.

That is called the Minion Bomber.

I use the "non-minion bomber", Rit/N - Boon of Creation. It gives you energy and health for each spirit or minion created.

This is a running substitute for soul reaping (but only to the extent of you creating a minion or spirit).

Thanks, this helped.
I'm trying Rt/Me because of energy management.
If I don't like it I can always change it in Senji's Corner ^^
